A three-day day camp designed specifically for children and teens living with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D). It offers a fun, safe, and educational environment where roughly 110 campers (ages 4 through 12th grade) come together to connect with peers who share their experience with T1D. At camp, participants build confidence, make friends, and learn self-management skills through games, activities, and support — all while diabetes is the norm, not something that sets them apart.

COPD Foundation is a U.S.-based nonprofit dedicated to improving the lives of people affected by chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and related lung conditions like bronchiectasis and nontuberculous mycobacterial (NTM) lung disease.

Hospice House of Union County

Hospice of Union County is a hospice care provider based in Monroe, North Carolina (Union County) that specializes in end-of-life care and support for people with terminal illnesses. Hospice focuses on comfort, dignity, and quality of life in the final months of life, providing pain and symptom management, emotional and spiritual support, and assistance for both patients and their families. Care is typically given in the patient’s home or other settings such as nursing homes, and includes support services for loved ones before and after loss.

Down Syndrome Association of Greater Charlotte is a  family support organization based in Charlotte, North Carolina, dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for individuals with Down syndrome (Ds) and their families. Its mission is to empower individuals, families, and professionals with information, resources, education, social programs, and community partnerships that promote acceptance, inclusion, and opportunity across the lifespan. The organization offers programs such as support groups, summer and overnight camps, social activities, education and outreach, and a parent-led First Call support program for families from diagnosis onward.

UNC Charlotte Botanical Gardens is a free, public botanical garden and greenhouse complex located on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in Charlotte, North Carolina. It exists to promote education, conservation, and appreciation of plants through its curated collections, programming, classes, tours, and community events. The gardens span several areas, including outdoor gardens like the woodland Van Landingham Glen and ornamental Susie Harwood Garden, as well as the McMillan Greenhouse with diverse plant displays such as orchids, carnivorous plants, and tropical species. Its mission is to “share the world of plants with people” for both visitors and students alike.

Pink Ribbon Gals is a nonprofit organization based in Indian Land, South Carolina focused on supporting breast cancer survivors as they recover and rebuild confidence after diagnosis and treatment. It provides financial support, specialized supplies, and services—such as pre- and post-surgical products (e.g., breast prosthetics, mastectomy bras, compression garments, wigs)—in a compassionate environment that emphasizes empowerment and dignity. The organization’s mission centers on uplifting survivors, promoting self-esteem, and creating a community of strength and solidarity, often summed up by its promise that “Nobody Fights Alone.”
